Easter issue features new evidence for the Resurrection

Print PDF

OUR APRIL ISSUE launches an assault on the mistaken idea that you can’t trust the Bible because it isn’t real history. The cover story ‘The Bible Bites Back’ explains four recent discoveries that all confirm the accuracy of the Bible – both Old and New Testaments.

Our special Easter centre spread also reveals the remarkable discovery of a burial shroud from the time of Christ that perfectly matches the Bible’s description of Jesus’ own grave-clothes, proving the story of the Resurrection must have been written by eye-witnesses of those first Easter events.

Other Easter features include...

Sow some seed with the September issue!

Some people need to see some hard evidence for Christianity, as well as hearing from other people about the impact of faith in their lives. This month, we've got both!

As well as a beautiful invitation to Harvest services on the front page this month, we lead with the discovery of the resting place of the Apostle Paul's body in Rome. Inside, there's also an archaeologist's convincing claim to have found the remains of the city of Sodom - destroyed by God in Abraham's time. These are both powerful evidence for the truth of the Bible. Then there's the testimonies of both celebrities like rock star Steve Harley and ‘ordinary' people. Here's a more detailed guide to the September issue...

July issue lives life on the edge

Print PDF
BECOMING a Christian doesn't mean playing it safe - and that's a theme that runs through the latest issue of Good News.

July features a double amputee who felt like dying until God led him to enter the triathlon - one of the world's toughest athletic challenges - and run it on metal prosthetics!

We also talk to a former member of the French Foreign Legion who was kicked out for, of all things, being too violent! He's now a peace-loving guy since finding Jesus, but is still on the lookout for adventure, as he tries to become the first rower to cross the Atlantic single-handed.

And then there's a guy who's a church minister by day, and rally car driver by night - flying round race tracks at breakneck speed. Plus: brave nursery teacher Lisa Potts who held off a machete attacker; a beauty queen who wouldn't compromise her beliefs to win the Miss USA title; a top writer who is defying scorn from his intellectual peers for turning to Christianity; a Premiership goalkeeper who has fought Tourette's syndrome all his life, and a nurse who will continue to risk her career because she believes in the power of prayer.

Postal agents wanted

Print PDF
Good News newspaper has seen such growth in the last two years that we are in need of more postal agents.
Our current postal agents are working at their maximum capacity, so to enable growth of the paper to continue we are looking for two more postal agents. The work involves taking orders from distributors (customers) who do not have agents in their area. Papers have to be packed up and posted out to the distributors. Good News can provide an initial gift of money to cover the postage costs of the first month's orders (thereafter the costs will be paid by the distributors you serve). The work is on a monthly basis and hours are determined by the number of papers posted out. There is a slight reduction in price per copy for agents, to cover expenses such as packing materials, but other than that the work is voluntary.
Please pray to see if you feel called to serve the Lord in this way, and get in touch with Elaine Robinson on 01487 831888 or John Mutton on 01246 825137 for more information.

Easter issue raises the bar - again!

Print PDF
Thanks to all our hard-working agents, co-ordinators and YOU as a purchaser and distributor of Good News, the April issue set a new high.

This year it sold over 70,000 copies - a rise on last Easter, which was itself a rise on the year before, and our highest ever selling Easter issue. That means the Gospel reaching even more people in the UK. And in a time of recession. Well done to all!

Good News at Easter – a message of hope

Print PDF

THE FRONT page of April's Good News asks the question ‘What's so good about Easter?' and answers that Jesus came to bring us hope.

At a time when jobs are under threat and a cloud of recession is hanging over the UK, many people may not see the point of thinking about someone's death 2,000 years ago. But the Easter message on our cover says that the one thing everyone needs right now is hope - and that's exactly what Jesus brings to all who believe he died for them.

Other articles in the April issue with an Easter theme are the testimonies of a doctor who has prayed three people back to life, and a New Zealand atheist who thought there was no life after death until a near death experience showed him otherwise! He had an experience of God's love that, once back in his body, led him to find that same love again - from Jesus.
