February issue special focus on evolution
FEBRUARY 12 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin, and the media will be flooded with tributes to the scientist. But his theory has been used by atheists to undermine faith in God. In a special feature on evolution, Good News assesses the current state of evolutionary theory, and finds that only a Creator can explain the origin of life on earth.

Some Christians believe God used evolution to create life – others believe evolution is both scientifically and biblically untenable.
Mark Haville, producer of NPN Videos, is firmly in the latter camp. He says, “Did you know that Darwin’s idea of evolution is still the number one stumbling block in the western world hindering people from putting their trust in Jesus?
“In 2009 universities, colleges and other groups around the UK will be hosting events to celebrate the birth of Charles Darwin and the publication of his book The Origin Of The Species. The 200th anniversary of his birth, 12 February, is being promoted as ‘Darwin Day.’
“Life Days are being organised nationally to challenge the theory-tale of evolution and to provide biblical answers to many who are dissatisfied with Darwin’s unscientific speculations.
“The most widely used evangelistic documentary in the UK, Life’s Story, and an accompanying searcher’s guide have been mass produced at low cost to allow both church groups and individual Christians to make free distribution of one of the most challenging Gospel programmes available today.”
